Loooks like the Jeffco scholll district wants to end my contract.
They don't like the Macs they have, hate my hours that I have chosen, which actually make sense because I'm not disrupting work, and generally don't like my not wanting to work on Windows machines.
I'm too old to deal with this kind of crap.

Harry. Sometimes you have to do things that are not all fun and games. Work on Wnidows machines. Pretend you're happy when you're not. You say you're too old for this crap, but when are you going to grow up? It's time. Come on.

Well I have had a change of heart. It has been tough watching you go thru what you are because I love you and want (and I think I have tried) to help, but I guess all I can do is take care of me and try to be the best friend I can be.
Take it one day at a time. Don't worry about things that haven't happen yet, if you want to stay at the job, make the changes they want you to make. If not, thats up to you.
You would never give up on me, and I am not gonna do that to you.

First D was me, Dickie. Harry, we are all torn apart by what you are going through, and none of us is walking away, despite what you may think. If there was something we could do to help you, we would, but it is painfully clear (even to you) that the change needs to come from within. Don't feel that when we speak harshly that we are kicking you when you are down, we are trying to rouse you.
I know that you are terribly down, and not without reason. You can pull out of this slump, but it going to require a change in your mindset. We have talked about what you could do to get the distress out of your system. It is not going to be easy, and it is not going to be fun, but you know what you need to do and you know how to to do what you need to do. You just need to want to do what you need to do.

Harry, I don't think there is one person among us who is doing exactly what they would like to be doing. Hell, some of us don't even know what that dream job is, if it even exists. You take the good with the bad. Some days you set up Macs, and some days you try to figure out why your stupid IIS server has forgotten how to send data entered into a form to an email address (stoopid IIS, stoopid Microsoft). It's not like we work because it's fun (although it's nice on the days it is), we work so we can pay the bills. You've made some decisions about what you are not willing to do. That's great when people are beating down your doors to get you to work for them, but that's not exactly the case. Do the work they want you to do, get yourself back on your feet financially, emotionally and healthwise, and then explore your other options. But if you stop working, the bad situation you are in now becomes a disaster. I know you know this, but sometimes it helps to hear someone else say it.
We are all pulling for you. And we try to help out in the ways we can. Sometimes it's reminding you what you need to do. Sometimes it's trying to cheer you up. And sometimes we can send you a few bucks. But the bottom line is, there isn't a damn thing any of us can do unless you try as well. So please make an effor for us, k? Happier days are around the corner if you can hang in there.
