Happy 48th!

Tried to get this up yesterday, but had a small password issue.

Congratulations to Rachel who was married on Saturday.  I'm sure Harry was there in spirit.

Another year...

...another birthday. I hope that you're living it up as the odometer clicks over to 46.

Bim Skala Bim is playing at the Middle East on the 6th. I'll probably go and think of days long past.

Happy 45th, Harry!

Wherever you are, I'm sure you're enjoying your day.

We're thinking of you.

Yep, 3 years.

On Saturday it will be 3 years since we learned what happened, although when it happened was much earlier. I still think of Harry on a daily basis, and while it has gotten a little easier, it still leaves me with a lot of questions and no answers. I'm sure many of you are in the same boat. Oh well.

Brown, we miss you.

Another Birthday

Today would have been Harry's 44th birthday. I think he would have liked this one, as it would be his "hard eight" birthday. I miss you Brown. It's been two years, but it hasn't gotten any easier.

Remembering days past

Well, the last post has been up for quite some time, so here's a new one.

I've been feeling kind of nostalgic as of late, and found myself on the Bim Skala Bim, Steady Earnest, and Beat Soup web sites today. That was depressing, as they all seem to be "on hiatus". Damn!

Dickie, remember the night Harry and I drove up to Portland to visit, and we found Steady Earnest playing in a club across the way? What year was that? That was the night I drank my first (and last) Pabst Blue Ribbon. Not that it was bad, it just wasn't good ;)

Happy 43rd!

Sunday would have been Harry's 43rd birthday. It's funny, I could never get his and Dago's birthdays straight. I would always think that Harry's was the 11th, and then mention that I'd miss Dago's birthday. He would explain, once again, that it was his that I missed. Just when I got it all sorted out...

Anywho, I miss ya Brown.

One year ago...

was Harry's last post. It was not long after that that we lost him. For lack of a better date, I think I will choose April 29 as the date to mark his departure. I still think of him all the time, and occaisionally I am happy to wake up in the morning and realize I was dreaming about him. Usually the dreams involve playful silliness and they never seem to make sense, but they are always good.

I still do a doubletake whenever I see a white Rover, or a big pony-tailed white-haired guy. I miss you, Harry.

We're Back!

The blog was down for a little bit, as Harry's hosting service expired and he had blogger write directly to his site. Now we have knowmads.com redirected to my site. The only thing missing are the pictures, which went with the site. I did have a copy of them, but as luck would have it I've had a hard drive crash and they are among the many files I am trying to recover. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

And now for something completely different...

I have had an idea of a way for us to keep in touch...online gaming. I played Star Wars Galaxies with Harry (and Pete and Chris) and had a lot of fun with that, and I recently started up with World of Warcraft. Anyone interested? Might be a good to have a monthly (or whenever) virtual get-together where we can go out and kill some bad guys (or, sigh, good guys, Kira).

Pictures from the Mesa

Here are some pictures that I took on Friday. From top to bottom they are the rocks that we left, the entrance to the cave, a view into the cave and what the cave looks like from the outside. While it's not actually a cave, it's a very beautiful area that was special to Harry. The rocks were placed on a natural shelf towards the far end. Thanks to everyone who was able to be a part of this.

8/26 PS. The last photo I just added today, and it is a view from the end of the cave that Dago mentioned in his post. Micro

We're back

It was a long trip, great weather, great sights, and a bit of sadness. But the rocks have been delivered to a place that Harry loved. I'll post some pictures when I get a chance.
